Simple Oven Baked Orange Pork Tenderloin Recipe
Simple Oven Baked Orange Pork Tenderloin Recipe
There are thousands of easy to use pork tenderloin oven recipes; however, this is one of my favorites. Though, I like to think that not many people use it, which is why I’m sharing it with you. I’ve been cooking for over 15 years, and pork tenderloin is on our family’s dinner table almost every week. This recipe is one of the more common pork tenderloin recipes that we use. We usually buy our pork tenderloin from the grocery store (or walmart) and if you want to use this recipe, you’ll need to make sure that you purchase one that doesn’t already have the seasonings on it, as most of them do these days.
Oven-Baked Orange Pork Tenderloin Recipe
1 Pork Tenderloin (usually approx. 2 pounds)
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
4-5 Bay Leaves (or a healthy pinch of crushed bay leaves)
2-3 Sprigs Thyme
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 cup Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (try to avoid using heavy pulp)
Place tenderloin in a baking dish and rub with salt, pepper, bay leaves and thyme.
Let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Scrape the newly created marinade off the pork; place to the side. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and add the tenderloin. Sear the meat quickly over high heat until well browned on all sides (This should only take a couple of minutes!).
Place the seared meat in a foil-lined roasting pan. Rub the reserved marinade back onto the meat and pour orange juice over it.
Tightly close the foil and cook for 20 minutes.
Remove tenderloin from the oven and loosen the foil to allow any steam to escape.
Return to the oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until the meat is 160° F. (Remember that pork is not a meat that can be eaten rare…always allow for proper cooking temperatures)
Let rest 6-8 minutes before slicing.
I hope you enjoy this recipe; we have used it many times, and always enjoy it. If you want a heavier or lighter orange flavor, simply increase or decrease the amount of orange juice in your own recipe. Don’t forget to comment on this recipe after you’ve used it. Thanks.
